Clean Energy That Cares: Springboig Care Centre Case Study

Springboig Care Centre in Glasgow took a major step toward energy independence and environmental responsibility. With rising utility costs and a strong desire to reduce their carbon footprint, the care home partnered with Sol4r Energy Ltd to deliver a robust solar power system built for performance, resilience, and year-round efficiency. Despite challenging winter conditions and the operational sensitivities of a live-in facility, our team completed the installation just before Christmas and with zero disruption to residents.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW & PERFORMANCE

This large-scale system was designed to meet the care home’s high energy demands while improving long-term cost savings and reliability. The installation included:

  • A 150kW system using high-efficiency Aiko 625W solar panels
  • Three FoxEss H3 Pro hybrid inverters
  • A FoxEss SEM monitoring system for real-time performance tracking
  • A 53kWh FoxEss battery storage system, providing backup and load-shifting capabilities

The system is expected to generate substantial energy year-round, significantly reducing reliance on the grid and lowering operational costs. All scaffolding and roofing work was carried out with exceptional care and safety.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Springboig Care Centre is now making a lasting impact on both their finances and the planet:

  • 24.1 tonnes of CO₂ avoided annually
  • The equivalent of 722,599 car kilometres avoided, 4,646 trees planted, 517 long-haul flights offset
  • 61% offset of CO₂, SOₓ & NOₓ emissions
