Sol4r Energy has begun work on a new 50kW commercial solar installation at Sporting Khalsa FC, featuring Sungrow Smart Module technology.
The Sporting Khalsa FC project marks Sol4r Energy’s first installation using the Sungrow Smart Module, bringing intelligent module-level technology into a real commercial solar environment.
The 50kW solar PV system is being installed for Sporting Khalsa FC as a commercial solar project, and our team is now on site progressing through the installation stages. It is a good opportunity to put smart solar technology into practice on a live commercial installation — and to show what that technology offers organisations considering solar.
A conventional solar panel generates electricity and not much else. The Sungrow Smart Module combines solar generation with intelligent functionality built in at module level — so each panel is more visible and more manageable.
These are the features Sungrow lists for the module:
Performance can be viewed panel by panel, rather than only as a total for the whole system.
The module is designed to detect anomalies, with Sungrow stating anomaly shutdown within 25 seconds.
Helps pinpoint where an issue sits within the array, supporting faster, more targeted maintenance.
Bypass functionality handled at module level, as part of the module’s built-in intelligence.
Module data is stored and visualised through Sungrow’s iSolarCloud platform.
Lifecycle data transparency, with digital records kept across the life of the module.
Feature and warranty information as supplied by Sungrow. Warranty terms are provided by the manufacturer — see sungrowpower.com for full product details.
For commercial sites, a solar PV system is a long-term asset. Being able to see what each module is doing, locate issues quickly and keep a digital record over the system’s life makes that asset easier to look after — and supports effective solar PV maintenance over the years ahead.
That is the thinking behind bringing the Sungrow Smart Module to Sporting Khalsa FC. For Sol4r Energy, the project is a chance to install and work with this smart solar technology first-hand on a live commercial solar installation — and to share what we learn along the way.
